The 3 Most Common
Wrong Diagnoses

Headaches

Most headache treatment ignores the jaw and the stress load. You get neck rubs and migraine meds and no one touches the real pattern.

In clinic, jaw clenching, breathing, and autonomic overload show up in the majority of chronic headaches I see.

When those are dealt with properly, a lot of “mysterious” headaches stop being mysterious and often settle fast.

Boaz's treatments for headaches include
- Gently releasing the inside of your jaw with a gloved finger.
- Using gentle guided imagery to let out your specific stressors.
- Treating the whole of the Deep Front Line of the body as needed.
- Listening to the Release Your Tension Headaches session on EMDR2U.com

Sciatica

Sciatica is the most mis-diagnosed condition that we see. Many practitioners use the word to scare patients into believing that they need lots and lots of treatment sessions.

True sciatica is surprisingly uncommon, despite what your physio, chiro, or GP told you. The most common causes of "sciatica" can be resolved within 2-4 sessions. They are usually straightforward to resolve once you treat the real cause.
- Tight hip flexors
- Weak adductor muscles
- Sacroiliac joint mis-alignment

If your pain crosses more than one of these dermatomes, or does follow a dermatome at all, then it's probably not true sciatica. So, why not come in and get the root of the problem sorted out.

Upper Back Pain

Upper back pain comes from two main areas that are not at your back.

The first is your chest muscles. They are bigger and stronger than the muscles between your shoulder blades. If the chest muscles (pecs) get overactive, they bully the poor back muscles (rhomboids). Doesn't it make sense to teach the pecs to relax instead of telling rhomboids to lift their game.

The second is the diaphragm. That's the muscle that pumps your lungs. It can get tight, often just on one side. It can feel like pain deep within your back or chest, and under the shoulder blade.
The solution is easy. It's just about knowing where to press. It can also help to ask the emotional questions such as "What are you not breathing easy about?"
